Dialogues, Op. 3

The musical texts of the two compositions which are contained in this publication, have reached their present final form only after an extended in time elaboration. The first musical piece bears the title «Dialogues», as a dialogue unfolds between the right and the left hand. This interchange represents the dialogue between the faithful and God. The second composition is named «the Fall of Constantinople». It describes that tragic day when Constantinople was conquered by the Turks on 29th of May 1453. The first piece begins with a joyful dialogue in D major and a second, this time tragic, part follows in D minor. Finally, it ends with the quotation of the first theme in D major. The second piece is written in E flat minor and begins with chords that approach the atonal music. After an arpeggio chord, a tenacious musical description of the Fall of Constantinople begins, which ends with the final catastrophe of Constantinople.
